Sikap keterlaluan yang tidak konven

Sikap keterlaluan yang tidak konvensional ini berlaku dalam persekitaran hyper-maskulin ‘Mat Rempit’. Mereka membesar dengan norma-norma tersebut dan belajar untuk menolak penghinaan dan sikap keterlaluan, walaupun mereka berdepan dengan orang lain dalam cara yang berbeza. Bagi ‘Mat Rempit’ adalah penting untuk mewujudkan imej maskulin dengan mempertahankan maruah mereka dan kehormatan orang lain khususnya teman wanita, isteri, keluarga (terutamanya ibu) dan rakan-rakan. Dengan menunjukkan kekuatan fizikal, reputasi dan kuasa mereka cuba untuk memperbaiki imej dan menyembunyikan kelemahan individu. Namun begitu, persetujuan pada reputasi boleh membawa kepada konflik dalam kalangan juvana kerana mereka cuba menguasai orang lain untuk mendapatkan pengiktirafan sosial (Rebellon, 2006). Sesetengah ‘Mat Rempit’ juga dengan sumber yang terhad menunjukkan kecederungan untuk menggunakan tingkah laku agresif fizikal terhadap orang lain atau mencetuskan pergaduhan untuk mencapai penghormatan dan harga diri. Oleh itu, setiap tindakan yang teruk memerlukan reaksi yang agresif untuk mempertahankan reputasi seseorang. Dalam pengertian ini, mereka akan menggunakan keganasan atau ancaman keganasan sebagai satu bentuk kawalan sosial atau self-help
