Produktiviti pekerja amat sinonim dengan prestasi kerja mereka yang mana apabila prestasi kerja baik maka produktiviti akan meningkat. Persekitaran kerja yang selesa akan memberikan kesan yang positif dan baik untuk kesihatan dan keselesaan pekerja dan pengguna. Di samping itu juga, faktor persekitaran yang tidak baik dan tidak selesa boleh memberikan kesan kepada kesihatan para pekerja sama ada kesan yang sementara atau berpanjangan terhadap pekerja terlibat. Faktor-faktor persekitaran merupakan faktor yang mendorong peningkatan kadar produktiviti seperti suhu, pencahayaan, keselesaan terma, hingar dan getaran di kawasan kerja tersebut. Semakin selesa ruang kerja semakin tinggi dan berkualiti pengeluaran yang dihasilkan. Keselesaan terma mempunyai satu pengaruh yang besar terhadap produktiviti dan prestasi seseorang pekerja. Pendedahan kepada panas yang berlebihan semasa kerja boleh merimaskan dan menyumbang kepada produktiviti rendah dikalangan pekerja. Kajian dilakukan secara pemerhatian
dimana perbezaan produktiviti dianalisis dan dibandingkan dengan keselesaan terma. Hasil kajian ini dapat membantu untuk penambahbaikan kepada sesuatu industry agar dapat meningkatkan produktiviti disamping psikologi dan kesihatan pekerja tidak diabaikan.
