Di Malaysia, fenomena lumba motosikal haram jalanan telah menjadi keprihatinan yang besar dalam kalangan orang ramai (Norhayati et al., 2015). Kegilaan belia bermotosikal yang lebih sinonim dengan aktiviti lumba haram atau ‘merempit’ telah menjadi salah satu tumpuan utama belia berisiko di Malaysia (Samsudin, 2007). Aktiviti ini bukan sahaja merupakan masalah baru di Malaysia, malah turut berlaku di seluruh dunia. Walau bagaimana pun, fenomena ini tidak terdapat di negara-negara lain, tetapi terdapat tingkah laku golongan belia di sesetengah negara yang mempunyai persamaan dengan fenomena seperti ini di Malaysia (Samsudin A. Rahim, 1994; Voelkl, Welte & Wieczorek, 1999).

These activities not only constitute a new problem in Malaysia, but also occur around the world. However, this phenomenon is not available in other countries, but there is the behavior of youth in some countries which have in common with this kind of phenomenon in Malaysia (Samsudin a. Rahim, 1994; Voelkl, Welte & Wieczorek, 1999).
